2. Data collected
We process the data you provide when registering (name, email address) as well as the content you create in the app (ratings, photos, notes, lists, tags, dishes). If you sign in via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we only receive the name and email address you explicitly share with us during that process. For push notifications, we also store a device token for your smartphone.
3. Purpose of processing
The data is processed to provide you with the app's core features (saving ratings, managing lists) and, if you explicitly share a list with "Friends", to show that content to confirmed friends.
4. Location data
With your permission, we use your location to show nearby places on the map and to automatically attach an address to new ratings. Sharing your location is optional – you can also create entries without any location at all.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
In the free tier, we show ads via Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). This may involve processing your device's advertising identifiers and technical usage data in order to deliver ads and measure their performance. On first launch – if you are within the scope of the GDPR – we obtain your consent via a certified consent management platform (Google User Messaging Platform); without this consent, at most non-personalized ads are shown. Purchasing "MemoRate Pro" once disables ads completely. More information: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6. Purchases
The one-time purchase "MemoRate Pro" is handled entirely through Apple's App Store payment system. We do not receive any payment or card data ourselves.
7. Disclosure to third parties
Your data is not sold. It is only shared with technical service providers required to operate the app: hosting/database (our own server), sending confirmation/password emails (Resend), as well as – as described under point 5 and in section 2 – Google (advertising, optional sign-in) and Apple (optional sign-in, purchase processing).
8. International data transfers
We use the email service provider Resend (USA) to send confirmation and password emails. This involves transmitting your email address to Resend; the transfer to the USA is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC), which are part of Resend's Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data at any time. You can permanently delete your account, including all content, at any time directly in the app's account settings. For further inquiries, reach us at the contact address above.
10. Retention period
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists and is permanently removed once the account is deleted.
